Motorola MOTOACTV: app to extend the use of all the smartphone Android

Motorola has announced that its MP3 player and fitness tracker MOTOACTV is now compatible with all smartphones and Android is no longer confined to models of the American home, thanks to new Google App available to play yesterday.

The new software over the extent of compatibility (requires at least Android 2.1) also brings with it new features, such as planning exercises on the phone and the display on MOTOACTV progress and goals, the ability to configure the Wi-Fi directly by phone and receive SMS messages or calendar events Android. For a complete list check out Motorola's announcement on the official forum.

MOTOACTV is a product similar to Sony smartwatch we've got to talk and so far has not exactly been a great success. In particular, in Italy the product is invisible, both on the company website in search engines that price.

It does not mean though that the product can not be found. Just use a little 'imagination and use the store offering the British MOTOACTV to 290 , which grow to about € 300 extra shipping charges for Italy

Sony Xperia S, our MWC 2012 Preview

Although Sony Xperia S is not exactly new, and indeed will be available starting Monday in Italy, we wanted to show you a short preview video and photos from the fair of Barcelona.

The smartphone has a design very nice and fully reflects the new philosophy Sony, very precisely focus on quality and aesthetics. We find at the bottom of the phone the new taskbar transparent, while the back is the powerful 12-megapixel camera with LED flash. Among the features of the 1.5 GHz dual core processor, the GPU Adreno 220 and 32 GB of internal memory.

Sony Xperia U, our MWC 2012 Preview

After having shown the first two "hints" about Xperia Xperia S and P, it's time to show a short video of Sony Xperia U, the smaller of the two smartphones Sony Xperia presented during the MWC 2012.

Among the hardware mention the 3.5 inch screen with 480 x 854 pixels, dual core processor with 1 GHz (800 MHz, and not as erroneously reported in the video), 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory.

Motorola Smartphone with Intel Medfield

The American manufacturer would be the second, after Lenovo K800 showed his last CES in January, to market its own device that uses the new Intel Atom Medfield. It was suspected for some time that Motorola would eventually submitted an Intel smartphone Medfield, announced it was seen that the same company with Intel, last January. The moment may be the next Mobile World Congress to be held as usual in Barcelona a few days.

Regarding the design, from what I can see, the phone inherits some solutions adopted by Droid Razr model. We do not know if the image is just a mockup or represents the final design, as it appears unconvincing excess of wasted space at the bottom of the display, taking into account that the terminal, using the latest version of Google Android, not need for physical buttons. It was not until the opening dell'MWC still learn something more.

As for Intel and its platform Medfield, already shown to function through a prototype so far, however, is not sold by any manufacturer, we must see whether the adoption by Lenovo and Motorola just to contradict the forecast is not very encouraging, made by different analysts about his initial penetration in the market.

Motorola: A new Android smartphone with Intel Medfield

Motorola, which announced at the Mobile World Congress 2012 to be held in Barcelona from February 27, 2012 to March 1, 2012, show the public a new smartphone equipped with the Intel Medfield.

The new jewel house of Motorola, will mount as the operating system, the newest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich which makes Motorola's first smartphone to use the OS default, custom user interface by Motorola technology very similar to the Fast Boot HTC, 16:9 aspect ratio display with a resolution of 720P.

According to the rumors of speculation, the display is a Super AMOLED, the same used on the Motorola RAZR and the Galaxy Nexus, regarding the chipset, it will be a single core Intel Atom Z2460, whereas it is the only chipset of Medfield. The design is what you see in the picture shown above.

As you can see is light, thin, pocket-sized but especially as people would say. For now it is too early to get more details, we just have to wait 2 weeks at the beginning of one of the most important annual events for the technology sector or rather mobile.

As soon as we have more details we will not hesitate to share them with you through our articles.

Motorola Milestone 3 to Feature Support for Atrix

These docks are an example of Motorola push themselves ahead in the increasingly saturated Android market it is an idea that could quite easily catch on with other phone makers. Either way, Motorola is already planning to add support for the devices to other upcoming phones including the next instalment of the popular Milestone/Droid phone series.
The Milestone 3 has not been officially announced just yet but images of the US version (the Droid 3) have made their way onto the internet along with some specifications. The phone is thought to include a larger 4.3″ qHD screen, a redesigned 5-row keyboard and the introduction of dual core processing to this phone series. Images of the phone also suggest that it will be compatible with the webtop peripherals including the laptop and media hub docks.

The laptop dock has the appearance of a normal laptop, albeit a laptop that won’t turn on. The device only comes to life once the Atrix is slotted into the docking port at the back whereupon the Webtop operating system is loaded on to the laptop. This is a fully windowed environment more akin to a desktop OS rather than a standard mobile OS and can allow you to enjoy programs like a fully tabbed version of Firefox. This OS as well as all the processing power behind it come entirely from the Atrix, as the laptop in itself contains no processor or software.
The Atrix also came with a multimedia dock that turned the phone into a media hub to help you browse through photos, videos and music on the phone through a home TV. This will also be supported for the Milestone 3 along with many other future Motorola smartphones.

This would have seemed slightly extravagant and unnecessary if it had been only the Atrix that supported the laptop dock, but the news that other upcoming Motorola phones will also be supported makes the idea a great deal more exciting. While this is just for Motorola phones at present there is a possibility that such devices will become available for phones from various manufacturers in the future, and even the possibility of devices that support phones from many different manufacturers.

Despite Verizon’s Claims to the Contrary, Motorola Says Gingerbread Not Yet Rolling out for Droid 2 Global

Earlier this week we caught wind that the “soak” test for the Android Gingerbread update forMotorola Droid 2 Global would be going out to select users towards the end of this week. A day or two later, Verizon posted the relevant documents for the update to their support site for the D2G, and subsequently announced via Twitter that the update had begun its systematic roll out as of June 15th. Funny thing is the update isn’t actually being sent out at all, according to Motorola’s support folks.
Postings over at the Motorola Support Forums clear up the confusion, saying the roll out of Gingerbread for the Droid 2 Global has not yet commenced. If you have been refreshing your system updates for the past three days wondering where your update is, you aren’t alone. But you may want to give it a rest until the update actually goes live.

WiFi Motorola XOOM Gets Google Videos

When Google’s new movie rentals and accompanying app were announced at this year’s I/O developers conference, the Motorola XOOM was announced as one of the first Android devices to receive streaming of rentals from the Android Market. The Google Videos (formerly Movies) app came to carrier-branded XOOM tablets along with the Android 3.1 update, but the same OS upgrade did not enable the app on WiFi-only versions of the slate. Motorola confirmed that the omission was intentional. Today that changes, as the app has been updated to include support of the WiFi XOOM.
The app still won’t work with rooted XOOMs, and unlikely ever will. If you don’t fall into that category, head over to the Android Market link below to grab Google Videos for your tablet now.
