Windows 8 tablets con: Intel diffonde le specifiche

Intel has released at a conference held in Beijing the first platform-specific Atom Z2760 dedicated to the tablet with Windows 8. This early information gives us an idea of the Wintel tablet on the market that we will find the second half of the year and not surprise us that much, in fact, are not very different from the recommendations provided by Microsoft in recent months.

At the center of the specifications are the Atom core with Z2760 Clover Trail, a system-on-chip dual-core processors like Intel's Medfield, which itself has called a "vehicle for the tablet and the hybrids equipped with Windows 8." Among the interesting features of the SoC is known Hyperthreading (virtually to double the number of cores) mode and a new "burst mode", to give rapid changes in performance when needed.

As is the case for netbooks and ultrabook, Intel will force manufacturers who purchase hardware kit based on Atom SoC follow the rules on product design. The most obvious is the form factor that will fall into two distinct categories: a tablet ordinary 10 "and a hybrid 11" with a physical keyboard (here the builders can indulge themselves by inventing slide, dock and so on).
