In our opinion, the device looks less attractive than its predecessor. The red touches that brought a bit of color to the Droid Incredible are gone, leaving a black slate on which even the controls for Back, Menu, Home, and Search disappear into the background when the phone is on standby. However, the device’s cleaner appearance might appeal to some, and the tapered edging and soft-touch finish also allow the phone to sit comfortably in the hand.
Dimensions wise, the HTC Droid Incredible 2 is slightly larger than the HTC Droid Incredible.
The most obvious improvement though is to the screen. The Droid Incredible 2’s 4-inch, 480x800 pixel Super LCD brings sharper definition and better viewing angles to its users. It’s a change that’s noticeable and very much welcomed, as is the way the icons rotate when the device is turned — a simple change but one that reflects HTC’s attention to detail.
The 8 megapixel camera on the back produces good quality images as well as the capability to record 720p HD video. The 1.3 megapixel camera on the front allows for video chats but it is not really recommended for taking pictures due to its lower resolution.
The Droid Incredible 2 ships with Android 2.2 (Froyo) and runs on a second-generation 1GHz Snapdragon processor with 768MB RAM. We have been hearing so much about dual-core that the 1Ghz processor might makes it a little old-school but it’s certainly fast enough. There’s no lag when opening apps and browsing, and the device performance is up to par.

Sadly that isn’t true of download speeds. The phone only supports up to 3G and as such, you can expect downloads rate at something around the range of 1.3Mbps and upload speeds around the range of 0.5Mbps with Verizon 3G CDMA network. These speeds are pretty sad when compared to the averages PC World managed to achieve with the HTC Thunderbolt over the 4G LTE network: In their five-city 4G tests, the HTC Thunderbolt averaged 18.30 mbps for downloads and 7.39 mbps for uploads.
