Ford Sync @ CES Las Vegas 2012

Invited by Ford at CES in Las Vegas, we visited the area dedicated to innovations in health and medicine. Gary Strumolo (Vehicle Design and Infotronics Ford) talked about the Ford Sync as a possible diagnostic tool. The starting point is the American experience, where 90% of internet users seeking medical advice before going to the doctor. The functions of health and wellness are the most used in the network after email and search engines. At the same time applications involving health were already 17,000 in 2010 and is expected to be used in 2015 to 500 million users.
Remaining in the United States, is then specified that the average time spent driving is considerable: so why did not use the Ford Sync, which already occupies infotainment, to improve people's lives? Ford has developed systems that thanks to Sync allows you to monitor your heart rate and blood pressure, and yet the level of glucose for diabetics. In particular, diabetes is a disease of great concern here in the U.S.. Have the possibility to continuously monitor the level of glucose may become essential for example to avoid accidents due to the effects of diabetes. Other possible developments: For allergy sufferers, the Sync can evaluate weather conditions and the environment and set the internal recirculation of air, or to propose alternative driving routes.
Data received from Sync can be saved on the network (or "cloud") and shared on other applications. Ford has entered into an agreement with Welldoc, currently the only FDA-certified app, which processes the data and suggests recommendations for behavior.
The final concept is that taking care of themselves inside your car. A bizarre concept? To some people might be so, but for all those who, for example, using the car for work, could prove very interesting.
