Intel launches new SSD Series 520: the first reviews

The family of branded Intel SSD is renewed and passes the 510 series to 520 series, bringing new cuts of size up to 480GB of capacity, almost double the maximum capacity of 250GB of the previous generation.

On the newer models debuting new chips from 25nm MLC NAND memory coupled to the controller LSI that SandForce (with a custom firmware from Intel) provide significantly higher performance in sequential write operations, which increased from well 315MB/sa 520Mb / s. Remain as the values ​​of sequential reading, which remain stable at 500MB / s.

The Intel SSDs Series 520 are not on sale yet but will come soon on the market. There is still no reliable information about prices for the end user, but there are prices for lots of 1000 pieces: 113 for the 60GB, 174 for 120GB, 240GB and 761GB for € 281 € for the 480GB model.
