MakerBot Replicator, the first two-color 3D printer

Hard not passionate about 3D printers, such as MakerBot Replicator, the first printing in two colors.

A year ago we had brought the MakerBot Thing-O-Matic, almost a do-it-yourself project to assemble. The Replicator, which takes its name from the technology of Star Trek fantascentifica, is larger: it can print objects of 22.6 cm x 14.5cm x 15cm approx. Furthermore, it is sold already assembled, as opposed to the younger sister. In short, the Cube was not the only new 3D printer CES, even the small but enthusiastic market for this new technology is booming.

The Replicator comes in two models, only the $ 2000 has twice the color, the second has a single nozzle for a regular print "monochrome" and costs $ 1800. MakerBot has also renewed the better the interface of his site from sharing Thingiverse, a community / design store that contains more than 15,000 open source projects and editable.

I can only hope that this fun and useful technology will spread quickly in schools and private homes, to entertain and fascinate young and old.
