Sony Xperia SmartWatch, the smartphone at your wrist

Sony has presented these days an interesting accessory for its line of Xperia smartphones. It's called Xperia SmartWatch and goes to replace the LiveView, the device (which we published a proof) that dates back to last year made by the now defunct label under Sony Ericsson.

In this version we find an OLED screen with 128 × 128 pixels touchscreen and the basic concept remains the same, ie have rapid access to information via a timer on your smartphone without having to pull out of his pocket, unlock it and surf in 'interface. The idea is certainly not new, but the experience gained with the former model seems to have brought some fruits.

In SmartWatch hours are 255 micro-applications, most of which are capable of interacting with smartphones Sony least with Android 2.1. The device with its 15.5 g (without strap) is really lightweight and measures 36 × 36mm to 8mm thick. Connectivity is ensured by Bluetooth and the company says that the battery life is approximately one week under conditions of "moderate use". Not bad. And thanks to the new Wireless Headset Pro (you can see photos in the gallery) the SmartWatch can be used as an MP3 player or radio, independent of the smartphone. There is no launch date yet but it comes at a price of about $ 149, inexplicably, more than double the old LiveView which was sold in Italy at around € 50.
