Spark, the Linux tablet

The Spark is an interesting experiment, modest as it is ambitious in its enthusiasm: it is a Linux-based tablet, and who dreams of becoming a launch pad into the world of open source market for a highly polarized by the "brand".

According to the creators, there are other devices that use "officially" Plasma Active, an interface for tablet developed by the open source community of KDE, a graphical environment, widely used in Linux galaxy. The UI, which here is preinstalled, more or less guarantees all basic functions-they ask for a tablet, and has slowly developed from a group of enthusiasts.

The hardware, as one might imagine, is quite "comfortable". The Spark is actually heavily based on existing Zenithink ZT-180 C71, a tablet that comes from the "usual" China. Talk about a 1GHz ARM processor, Mali-400 GPU, 4GB of space and 512MB of RAM. There is, however, the Wi-Fi (essential for a tablet), a microUSB port and a pair of SD. The screen is a capacitive touch screen 7 ".

In the end the life or death of the Spark will decide the enthusiasm of his supporters and the communities develop their hardware.
