Thunderbolt on Windows by April

Intel has decided to extend its Thunderbolt technology to new platforms than the Apple by spring. The plan is to get the new super ports on motherboards and laptops in April 2012. So far the only computer that can boast Thunderbolt were high-end Mac: MacBook Air, iMac and MacBook Pro

Clearly, the main beneficiary of this extension is Windows. With this move, the doors should leave the "ghetto" virtual product premium, thanks to a progressive decline in the price: Thunderbolt, which Intel hopes will spread everywhere at least as an option. So far, we spent $ 20 for a single controller, it is obvious that USB 3.0 would be considered more attractive by the producers.

The idea of Thunderbolt was originally Apple who wanted a thin cable with a standard that could transfer the video signal and data at high speeds. The USB 3.0 can be used for video, but that's not its purpose, and is still slower - Thunderbolt is almost indistinguishable from an internal drive.

We'll see if the market is convinced it is a risk that Intel seems willing to take. According to the plans of the corporation known as "ecosystem" Thunderbolt device that already has formed around the Mac should be sufficient to support an expansion.
