Windows has a new logo: representing the "tile" of Metro

I admit to being among those who have found the leak last week's Chinese too improbable to be true, but apparently the news of this hour confirm unequivocally that Windows is preparing them change their logo in favor of a square version, minimal and "polimonocromatica".

The new symbol is shaking off 20 years of small changes, however, have always been a hallmark, to adopt a curved shape without directly evoking the "tile" interface Metro, arranged in a grid that suggests not only a window (those at home), but also to a Finnish flag reversed.

The presence of the tile is a clear message: there is a great willingness to innovate, even at the risk, given that the future of Microsoft is betting everything on this new graphical interface that currently holds a tiny 1.5% of the smartphone market with Windows Phone 7, in addition to the large chunk in the console market thanks to the Xbox 360 Dashboard Metro introduced last December.

The new logo will debut on the Consumer Preview of Windows 8 - of which I enclose a gallery of recent images leakate - which is the first public beta expected in a few days all'MWC Barcelona and which by the way, you show them in a stripped version of Start of the famous stud as we remembered it.
