Yes Proton and cooperate to create a car with a 4G connection

Malaysian carmaker, Proton will begin offering car equipped with 4G connectivity. They will cooperate and take advantage of Malaysia's fastest mobile internet service, Yes.

Yes 4G devices, Huddle will be placed on the dashboard of the new Proton car, creating a micro wireless network in the car. More than five mobile devices can be connected at any one time for users to access the Internet. Currently, the 4G service of Yes covers more than 65% of the population in the country of Malaysia. They are the only wireless network operator serving the distance and the area as far as 960km from the North-South Highway, Malaysia's longest expressway.

Partnership between two leading brands of Malaysia, one in the car and the other on mobile Internet connectivity, will lead to the development of intelligent connected on Proton cars in the future. Both the Proton and YTL Communications (Yes 4G service provider) plans to create a variety of smart functions for automobile applications are always connected as remote real-time, vehicle diagnostics, security and location-based services that will make the driving experience safer, more comfortable and fun.

Dato Yeoh SeokHong, Executive Director of YTL Communications said: "In today's world, high-speed mobile connectivity is as important as the music player and air conditioning in the car."

 
Internet connectivity in the car, of course, not new. In 2009, Autonet Mobile launches Wi-Fi router in the car. And in 2009 also, Blaupunkt and miRoamer introduces world's first internet radio. At the 2012 International CES, Ford unveiled a car that is connected to the cloud system, Evos concept, which aims to utilize cloud computing in the driving system
