Microsoft demo video (see below) shows how this technology can project a user interface similar to the graphic design of the existing Windows Phone. Interaction such as touch, tap to zoom scrolling, and scrolling are all detected by the technology, backed by an understanding of the camera and pico projectors.
Although this work is at the moment is still in concept stage, Microsoft is hoping this hardware can be realized in the future, thus providing an almost unlimited possibilities for the touch interface on a variety of surfaces, not just on the handset.
