RIM outperform Apple in Canada

Last year Apple shipped more smartphones than Research In Motion (RIM) in Canada. According to data compiled by IDC and Bloomberg, Apple shipped 2.85 million units while the rim is only 2.08 million.

Fortunately for Apple because this is the first time surpassed RIM in 'his' own. Inversely proportional to the previous year, in 2010, BlackBerry sold more than half a million units in Canada compared to Apple.

Not only that RIM was never superior to Apple. In 2008, Canadians buy only one iPhone for every five they bought BlackBerry.

Increase in the number of shipments of Apple adds new challenges for RIM. Canadian companies that have experienced service interruptions, the stock price falls, CEO turnover and market share of mobile retreating.

Quoted from Mashable, Friday (23/03/2012), RIM's sales in Canada dropped 45 percent in the third quarter of 2011, compared with a year earlier. Even so, according to Bloomberg, RIM continues to sell more than Apple in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

"We have a global focus on RIM Sagat. By having a different market, the BlackBerry growing very fast in the world, "said Thorsten Heins, CEO of RIM said in a statement on the New York Times.

Meanwhile, to stop the sales slump that has spread, according to Bloomberg, Heins vowed to do something very different on devices made by the company. "BlackBerry Mobile 7, which was introduced last year have a better web browser with touch-screen navigation of the old model and BlackBerry devices 10 to be released this year will have a better improvement,"
