Crucial and Corsair Adrenaline Accelerator, two SSD caching solutions

Crucial is that Corsair has presented at the CES two SSD caching solutions aimed at users who want to speed up your mechanical hard drive through the combined use of a NAND memory and software that saves only the data used most often.

The result you get is basically a hybrid storage, similar to that proposed by the Seagate Momentus XT which we have already had occasion to speak, with the important difference that the memory is larger SSD (8GB only sull'ibrido Seagate 30-64 against the solutions of Crucial and Corsair), you can choose your hard drive as the basic unit and the software does not act at the firmware level, but needs to be installed on the operating system, in this case Windows 7.

The model is called Crucial Adrenaline and comes in a 64GB version, which become real as 50GB 14GB of total space is reserved for special functions by the software. The price is not defined yet, but the company has announced that it will be less than 100 pounds (120 euros).

The product called the Corsair instead Accelerator and is available in denominations of 30GB, 45GB and 60GB, respectively, at 55 €, 66 € and 78 €. Unlike the Crucial drive you know the name of the caching software, or Nvelo Detaplex. Among the specifications of the drives are SATA 3.0Gb / s, write speed up to 280MB/se 270MB / s read. The available models of the two houses is planned for the first quarter of 2012.
