The truth behind the gaffe of Intel during the presentation of Ivy Bridge at CES

CES was not a particularly full of news for Intel, in fact probably the thing that will be remembered most of all is the tragic blunders of the organization staff, during a demonstration of the graphics capabilities of the new chip Ivy Bridge has proved awkward for a few moments for the which was shown on screen was just a pre-recorded video, not a real game.

The "duck" has been around the world (if you have lost, here she is one of the many videos on YouTube) and in many legitimately questioned whether the prototypes of Ivy Bridge really exist and whether they are truly capable of running F1 2011. The journalist Anand Lal Shimpi of AnandTech has revealed the secret, managing to get their hands on the same platform with identical ultrabook preliminary Ivy Bridge used in the presentation.

Apparently the trick of the video is served only to simplify the presentation, then no conspiracy, because as you can see in the video after the break the ultrabook is perfectly able to run the game (medium detail and native resolution, or 1366 × 768). The framerate is not stellar but not surprising, since it is still a CPU and integrated graphics in the game, Codemasters is particularly odious performance.
