The new G-Drive external HD Hitachi Mac ready

Hitachi has created a pair of internal drives attached to a series of external solutions targeted at Mac users (even if they can be reformatted to any other system).

The first hard disk, with a capacity of 1TB, and is called the Travelstar 5k1000 is a 2.5 "5400rpm. The second is a unit 4TB, thick 3.5 "7200rpm called Deskstar 7K4000.

These two solutions are integrated in some houses stylish and sturdy that accord well with the Apple style. The portable drive series was dubbed G-and G-Drive Mobile USB Mobile Drive are virtually identical, except for the availability of ports. The first model has both USB 2.0 and Firewire 800, while the latter only a USB 2.0 port. Neither needs an external power supply, and both use the Travelstar 1TB.

There is also a series of external drives from the desktop, called G-Drive, with USB 2.0, FireWire and eSATA. The G-RAID is virtually identical, however, but also adds the ability to insert multiple drives. These models, equipped with cooling fan and aluminum body, are based on the HD Deskstar 7K400, and will cost between $ 200 and $ 900.
