Lenses for smartphones

Since the time of the first Nokia N series I enjoyed with the cameraphone. I am fond of pictures and I love taking pictures everywhere. The immediacy of the shot with the phone has its own reasons for being, if only because it is an object that never leaves us and what is (probably) lost in quality is often gained in immediacy and originality.
I recently got to try a set of camera lenses for additional smartphones. The set includes a macro lens, a telephoto and a fisheye. The lenses are made with a small circular metal washer adhesive (more than one in effect, for which you can use the same lens also with several phones) which serves to hold the lenses magnetically to the phone. The three lenses so they "stick" simply resting them in a moment the metal washer.
The set is of good quality lenses are made of glass and guarantee good results. the cost of the complete set is about 35/40 dollars. The site photojojo.com is a good source of photographic material in general, stands, cases and other accessories for interesting cameraphone and cameras in general.
The service is fast, considering the time, however, no immediate international shipments.
So I mounted on my Galaxy Nexus washer clutch (not even ruin the aesthetics, at least in this phone did not precisely known) and I immediately made some tests.
To recall, the Galaxy Nexus has (at the behest of Google) a camera with "only" 5 megapixels of resolution, the more easily to implement the "zero shutter lag" (no shutter lag) and you can take a picture immediately to the touch, without pausing to capture the moment typical "fire". What do not recommend that anyway, if not really needed.
Dwelling in fact acquire the fire (ie, touching at one point in the display before you take) the photograph will be much better. I have conducted their own tests and (if we stop to focus on) the Galaxy Nexus produces (at least in the daytime) shots higher than 4 of the iPhone and Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S. Disproving once again the myth of megapixels.
Of course, if you hurry to take a picture in order to grasp the moment, you can then take advantage of "zero shutter lag" which is a great resource, useful for producing shots "burst", but in this case we must settle for less than perfect images. This last feature Nexus (not understood by most, even at the level of reviews) is the source of unexplained modest fame of this terminal as a cameraphone.
We come to the lenses and their use. The most spectacular is the fisheye, using it in some contexts highly spectacular images are obtained and if it is true that there are applications in the market capable of digitally producing similar results, it is also true that the effect is less and less realistic and digital noise and unwanted artifacts introduced . in the bottom of the article you will find two or three examples of images captured with this lens. Beware of introducing aberrations eccesive ancoli images to black areas, areas still easy to trim with a graphics software.
The macro lens produces excellent results "approaching" the fire until a few centimeters from the lens. See the two images with the coins. The one on the left is the minimum focal distance reached by the Galaxy Nexus with its standard lens, while the photo at right shows how - using macro lens - we can get closer still keeping everything in focus. Obviously in both cases has not been using the digital zoom, which would lead to a degradation of the image.
The third set of images shows the use of telephoto lens that allows you to "bring" more distant subjects. Perhaps this is the least effective of the three, by image analysis it is clear how to match the zoom (no zoom and full zoom) the object was further away is "approached".
