Apple MacBook Air

Since Intel introduced a new category of ultrabook was obvious that a direct confrontation with the solutions of Apple MacBook Air would have been inevitable. The two types of ultraportable notebooks are indeed very similar, with platforms and technical solutions clearly superimposable, except for the operating system used, Microsoft Windows for the PC world, and of course Mac OS X for Apple. To date, however, everyone thought that the comparison would be solved only on the market, with sales figures, but the situation may now be at an unexpected crossroads.
According to the Taiwanese newspaper Commercial Times, in fact, Apple would not be at all pleased that Pegatron will produce chassis for both MacBook Air and Asus Zenbook, perceived as "clones" of its solutions, and would be pressing so that the manufacturer decides to suspend one of two productions. The Cupertino company would in fact an ultimatum, expiring next March. In this time Pegatron will make a decision, because the house of the bitten Apple does not seem willing to endure beyond the current situation.
If so Pegatron suspends production of chassis for Asus, the Taiwanese giant would be forced to turn to other partners such as Compal and Wistron. Pegatron, again according to what is reported by the newspaper in Taiwan, would be willing to go along with Apple's request, for several reasons. In fact, even Apple relies on Foxconn, which has much higher production capacity and Pegatron would be afraid of losing the production of the iPhone and iPad, much more profitable than Zenbook, of which at the time Asus has sold a few hundred thousand units, compared u 37 million iPhones and 15.4 million iPad.
Recall however that, at present, it is only a rumor and that there are no official statements from any of the three actors involved in the affair. If the information were to be based, are evidence of the tension created by the debut of ultrabook, which have nothing to envy to the solutions and that Apple may indeed soon insidiarne sales.
